This week I decided I would take one of my saved sick days off work. I took a Thursday. Not a great idea. It is hard to take a day off and then have to face the reality of the next day. I can't believe I still have seven weeks left. (Of teaching Kindergarten)
So, I went to school on Friday and first thing, as soon as I walk in the door one of the teachers I work with said "so, you're showing."
It's like saying "you're fat" I know I'm not allowed to feel offended but this public discussion of my body is something I will never get used to.
So, I smiled at her and said "yep." What else is there for me to say?
I mean don't get me wrong. I think that people are just trying to make conversation. It's just different for me to be so open with what's going on in my body. If anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with all this I would love to hear it.
I do know that it only gets more awkward when people start touching my belly instead of just talking about it.
I read the perfect solution: A person touches belly and I stick my arm out and touch theirs.
I makes me laugh just thinking about it. So, I don't know if I can pull it of with a straight face. Only time will tell.

It just gets worse. Don't worry. Half of people will tell you look great and the other half will tell you you're looking ready to pop. Go figure.
Just remember everything is bigger in Texas!!!! :) JK Now you get to look forward to, "You look like you are about to POP!"
oh man that made me laugh reading it. I think that would be awesome if you stuck your hand out and touched their belly as they were touching yours! :)
No one ever touched my belly. I guess I was lucky. I must have given off the "don't you even think about touching my belly" vibe. I'm not sure, but I'm glad it never happened. People always told me how small I looked, even though I felt HUGE and looked HUGE. hmmmmm
Hey Sandra...you're showing.
