Thanks for the ambiguity

So, nobody won. Even though it wasn't a competition. It goes to show that it really doesn't matter who she looks like. She is 2 months old yesterday-Sunday and she is cute.

Today she laughed for the first time while she was awake. We were singing Jingle Bells and I was making her clap. I got so excited I called matt. But he didn't answer so I got to leave a message of her laughing. Kinda Cool. We also took her in for her shots. I have never heard her cry so much. That was not so cool.

Thanksgiving was great! We went a little over board with the amount of food we cooked. I don't know what I was thinking we only had six people over. Here are a few pics:

My mom bought a 22 pound turkey! So we had leftovers. . .So far we have had turkey soup and turkey mole. If you have any suggestions on interesting ways to use the stuff we froze let me know.
I went pie crazy. I mean we had to have the traditional pumpkin and pecan. Matt WANTED the Lime Meringue. While I was shopping I saw some blackberries. I have never made a berry pie so I wanted to try it. When I got home and thought about it I was worried that nobody would like it so I made an apple caramel cheesecake thing. Yep I went pie crazy! My favorite was the the blackberry with some vanilla Bluebell. Matt's was the Lime Meringue. but they ALL were really good.

Then we had fun with the wii. This makes me laugh. But my family always makes me laugh.

Spencer/Garcia

Marissa is great! I love her much! She is getting bigger.

But much to my surprise she is not getting chubby. I mean she is half Garcia but there are many things about her that do not shout out Garcia. She does have dark hair, skin and eyes. Those are Garcia traits but I am noticing more and more things that don't come from my side of the family. . .that I'm aware.

It is funny because if I put her in the 3month old onesies or the pajamas with the feet she fits. She is getting longer. But if I try new born pants they still fall off her belly. She has long fingers, long toes, and long legs. Not Garcia traits.

When she was first born my dad said that her facial features are fine like Matt's. I get more comments that generally say she looks like her dad. I don't know if it is just because she is my baby but I don't see either of us.

So I know that people don't like to participate in the voting thing but I think you should this time. Tell me what you think. Does she look more like Matt or Me. It's not a competition it's just for fun.

We left the house

On Halloween was our first outing besides the doctor. We didn't dress up but I wanted to go out. I was also afraid of the germs so I put her in a sling I borrowed. Then nobody could touch her and I could have my hands free.
Sling Failed!
It failed because all the people that hadn't seen us in a while were in no way detoured by the the sling. They just kept leaning in even though I told them how I had her in the sling because of germs. I even mentioned H1N1. I think everyone thinks they are exempt.
Then when she woke up she was screaming. She doesn't usually wake up screaming but she did when she was in the sling. We left before the trunk or treat started. I think Matt wasn't done eating but it was time to go.

We didn't take any pictures of the sling but we did take pictures of the next day. She was so cute in her Sunday best. She was ready to go to church.
I put her in the seat because I figured people could look without touching better. Then they wouldn't be invading my personal space too.
She is my little doll

You can see how small she is in the chair.

She is getting better and better at smiling. She likes when people talk to her:)

10 Things I've learned

10. Four in the morning tacos have a whole different meaning then when I was single. I can't believe how hungry I get in the middle of the night. It used to be after I would go dancing or do stuff the tacos were the after party. Now the tacos are the necessity. Whatever I can stuff in the tortilla works.

9. She is hungry at the same time I am. She could look asleep but as soon as I put a fork up to my mouth she is hungry too. It never fails. Which brings me to number 8.

8. I'm glad I'm left handed. As a left handed person I have learned to do things with both hands my whole life out of necessity. So, I can hold her with one hand and eat with the other.

7. I'm grumpy when I don't sleep. I kinda knew that before. Matt really knew that before. But, this experience is teaching me that I maybe should leave the room when there are people over. Or I might say something too sarcastic.

6. I think her cry is cute. I mean the warm up cry not the I'm so upset where are you cry but the i'm starting to get hungry pay attention to me cry.

5. There are different kinds of crys.

4. C-section does not mean failure. As much as I felt like a failure when we turned to that option I got a beautiful baby girl. And, anything that can result in that is not failure.

3. I appreciate my mom. I thought I did before but I am starting to understand what a sacrifice all moms go through in life. It is humbling.

2. A walk around the block is a work out! I have been walking around the block. I used to run often. I mean I'm no Matt. But I used to be strong. Now I am really happy if I put some real pants on and walk around my block.

1. I am happy! Though, having a new born is hard, I can't help but smile and tell her I love her 50 times a day.

step back

Friday my friend invited me to go to a consignment sale for baby stuff. All things in my life are contingent on if the baby comes or not. Friday was my due date but I have been at a finger tip since August. So, I went.

I was looking for a bumper for the crib and maybe a baby book. I've been really lucky and blessed. I haven't had to spend too much money on all this baby stuff. Well, I found the bumper in five minutes looked around and decided to get in line. In the LONG line there were these booths where people were set up to sell baby stuff. I was am as big as a house now so EVERYBODY asked me when I was due:
"So, when are you due?"
me: "today"

They proceed to literally take a step back as if I was going to pop a baby out then and there. I think I scared them. I mean most of these people are mothers and should know it is not this instant thing. As much as I wish it was. I have never had that kind of reaction from people.
I think that's why I don't leave the house anymore:)

Well, we are doing great. I have another appointment tomorrow. If all goes as planned we should have the baby by Tuesday! My mom is coming to help too. I can't believe it's me this time. Pray for me the baby and Matt too.
Pictures will be posted here.

So, I'm due on the 25th. That's one week from today. I went to the Doctor today and he was hoping for improvement from the last two weeks where I was one cm. But, there was no change.

My mom was two weeks late with almost all five about her kids. We will see what happens.

Until the blessed event happens I need suggestions on how to use my time. I've been trying to not go crazy by watching TV, reading pregnancy books and counting ants. Hm,

The doctor told me to take it easy cause I'm really swollen so that's why I'm wasting time. I would love any advice.
