Our children are a constant source of entertainment.
Since the time Anson could crawl he would figure out what toy would make Marissa scream. He would take and and then proceed to get away. So, we are always practicing trading, sharing, and laughing. Anything but screaming. Anson is great at laughing just like his dad! I think it helps Marissa and I remember that it's ok.
It is not always easy:
Lately Marissa has figured out that she does enjoy playing with Anson. So, I hear her screaming at him "Anson, COME TO MY ROOM NOW!" "COME PLAY WITH ME!" Of course Anson ignores that and keeps doing his own thing.
Marissa was eating and taking her time when her brother who is never done eating and never wants to sit down wanders over to her plate and grabs food. She has a fit and then her wonderful dad asks me did your brothers ever take your food from you? HA they still would if they were in 100 yards of me.
So of course the thought made me laugh and if I laugh they laugh. So, they did :)
We always attempt conversation at dinner time. Tonight there was a moment when everyone had food on their plate and so I asked Marissa her favorite question to ask other people: "What is your favorite color?
She usually goes with the dominate color of her clothing but today she had too many colors on and none of them stood out. So she said "I have lots of favorite colors."
So then her dad asks "What's your favorite color when you are taking a bath?"
She responds: "Tan"
Matt and I looked at each other and smile. I couldn't hold back a little chuckle so of course Anson laughs too.
Tonight we were getting Anson ready for bed and he almost had his shirt off so he walks out of reach from Matt or I and proceeds to turn upside down and twist and turn. I guess you had to be there. None the less it was fun. It's the little moments where Matt and I look at each other and smile that I realize how blessed we are.
So, it makes me wonder what about this next boy? It will be fun to see how he reacts or doesn't to our family. I think Anson is going to make a great big brother, Marissa will proceed to think she is in charge and Matt and I will Smile :)
